Bang Story
Owners, Rodger and Lisa Garcia opened the first Bang Salon location in the Washington Park neighborhood in September of 1999. The second location in Park Hill opened it's doors in August of 2006 and Little b's, the most recent addition in September of 2008.
With its' highly educated stylists and commitment to customer service, Bang Salon quickly became known as the premier, upscale Denver salon. Bang Salon has won the highly coveted award of 5280's reader's choice"Top Salon" in the "Top of the Town" several times. Bang has been featured in Modern Salon Magazine, Salon of the Month and in Salon Today's Décor Portfolio. Bang has been rated in City Search's top five salon's in Denver three years in a row and also listed as one of Colorado's top 40 family owned businesses in Colorado Biz Magazine. Bang has also been featured on Ambush Makeover, 5280 Magazine and Denver Post for offering innovative services.
Bang is very involved with the community, donating time, services and dollars to causes such as, Children's Hospital Courage Classic Bike Tour, Day of Caring, Children's Hospital, Americare's Heroes' Fund, Scream Scram and many others. Bang Salon owners pride themselves on the education they offer their stylists. It seems they constantly have people flying around the world to bring back the best education for their clients. Bang carries only the best, exclusive hair care products possible such as Bumble and Bumble and Kerastase Paris. Since 1999, the salon has earned the reputation as being a industry leader both locally and nationally.
Meet the Owners: Rodger Garcia

Rodger is an owner/partner and master stylist of Bang Salon, and has an innate talent for cutting and styling hair. He is famous for giving hair a fresh new look with each unique haircut, and is in demand because of his pleasant demeanor and his innate talent of making every client feel comfortable and beautiful. After 10 years of honing his skills at a Cherry Creek Salon, Garcia and his wife Lisa opened Bang Salon in Denver's hip Wash Park neighborhood in 1999. |

Garcia has been the hairstylist in many local photo shoots with Denver Magazine, 5280 Magazine, The Denver Post, The Rocky Mountain News and 303 Magazine. He has also participated in many fashion shows including the Riverfront Fashion Show and Day of Caring Fashion Show a charity event benefitting breast cancer survivors featuring these survivors as models. Garcia continually enhances his skills by attending instructional hair seminars. Garcia has most recently taken courses through Vidal Sassoon in Los Angeles, Wella Corporation, L'Oreal Institute in New York and Sebastian in Los Angeles, just to name a few. Garcia has traveled to Milan, Italy to study the recent trends in hair fashions, and has also studied hair fashions in Madrid, Spain. Wherever Garcia travels, he continually searches for inspiration to further master his work. Rodger and his wife Lisa also travel to Napa Valley every eight weeks for their clients who live there. |

Meet the Owners: Lisa Garcia

Lisa is co-owner of Bang Salon. Before opening Bang Salon in 1999, Lisa had followed the salon business for ten years, working closely with her husband and Bang Salon co-owner Rodger Garcia. With a degree in Public Relations, Lisa worked at a Denver Advertising and PR firm and also five years in management. Lisa has since obtained her Cosmetology license and recently created a networking website for the salon industry called Salonline.com. Lisa has attended numerous salon business and networking courses and seminars since she began managing the salons in 1999. |

She has attended Bumble and Bumble Immersion I and II and Front Desk Management, Wella Business courses, Oribe Owner to Owner forums and has had the opportunity to speak at some of these events. She is very passionate about the industry and believes in networking with other salon owners to share ideas and successes in hopes of creating higher standards and more successful salon owners across the country. Although she is kept very busy working on her website and fulfilling her dream of sharing her knowledge, she can frequently be spotted at the salons as well. |
